Big Lake Manufacturing Ltd. is a welding and fabrication manufacturer based in Sarnia, Ontario. Big Lake fulfills the dream of its founders and co-owners Derek Hoogland and Ashley Wallace to venture into business ownership.

Big Lake was founded in 2018 when Derek and Ashley left careers in marketing, development and executive leadership in the non-profit sector. Before starting Big Lake, Derek gained experience in structural steel fabrication and installation, batch manufacturing, aluminum sign fabrication and industrial coatings.

Big Lake was originally established in East Hamilton as a sole-proprietorship. In 2020 the business incorporated and relocated to Sarnia, Ontario.

Big Lake has specialties in aluminum fabrication for the sign industry and municipal infrastructure. Big Lake serves sign companies, municipal contractors, landscapers, greenhouses, manufacturers and homeowners.

Derek and Ashley live in Sarnia with their two children.
